David and Shirley Swafford started their ministry as pastors in Oklahoma. After fourteen years and David receiving his Master’s Degree from Assemblies of God Theological Seminary, David and Shirley Swafford began their adventure in missions with three teenagers, Kristin, Jennifer, and Jonathan. We were a called family, not just a couple.
David was attending Central Bible College when he told God that one day he would love to go where there had never been a ministry before. Eighteen years later God sent David and Shirley as pioneer missionaries involved in establishing the Georgian Christian Theological Institute, pastor’s school of training, National Women’s Ministries program, Sunday school, humanitarian and translation work in the former Soviet Union Republic of Georgia.
Today, David is serving the Latin America/Caribbean region as the CST academic dean of 7 nations in coastal South America and the West Indies. What God used the Swafford’s to do in the Republic of Georgia, He is now using them in 7 nations and 10 locations.
“It is our prayer that God would raise up missionaries from the Caribbean and coastal countries of South America to take the gospel into countries that we could not go. We know it is possible and with God’s help it will be done.”
